ITS must take the server known as Wells down in order to replace a failed drive. The services supported by this service include: faculty/academic staff home directories storage, faculty/academic staff personal websites and storage for classes and departments.

The virus definition update for the MyDoom virus was issued at approximately 9:50pm this evening.
The update was installed on the Pomona Faculty/Staff and Student email systems at about 10pm this evening. Immediately, various forms of the MyDoom virus were scanned and quarantined by the Pomona email system showing that the scanning was working properly.

Mydoom is a worm that spreads over email AND the Kazaa network. When executed, the worm opens up Windows’ Notepad with garbage data in it. In emails, it uses variable subjects, bodies and attachment names. It also attacks SCO.COM with a denial of service attack.
