The oldenborg switches will be replaced this afternoon at around 5:30. As a result network connectivity will be unavaliable for about 20 or 30 minutes while we change the switch out. If you are still unable to get online at around 6:15 please reboot your machine before calling the helpdesk.

The student supervisors have noticed in the past few hours that no emails from non-Pomona addresses seem to be arriving. We have attempted to send test emails to ourselves and each other to confirm this suspicion. A new virus was discovered this morning that is spreading fast. Symantec currently lists it as a level 3 threat on a scale from 1-5 (5 being most severe). ITS needs to perform some maintenance on the network servers. We will be doing this on Monday, 16 February.
Network services for Faculty, Academic Staff and Students will be affected between 5:30 and 6:30 p.m.; no one service will be down for more than 10 minutes.

This evening, several malfunctioning switches in Oldenborg were replaced. Those people connected to the old switches briefly lost network and internet connectivity while the changeover occurred.
