Student Email-Sending Problems

As a result of a high amount of email traffic related to this weekend’s Alumni events, the student email server has been experiencing difficulties in sending student email from Webmail, Outlook, and SquirrelMail to off campus addresses. Webmail Service Impaired by Denial of Service Attack

The email administrator reports that the webmail server is under a denial of service attack. He has rebooted the server, but that may not stop the attack from impairing your ability to login. In the event that you cannot connect to Webmail, try using SquirrelMail (http://chip.pomona.edu/sm/student/src/login.php) instead.

Island Outage

Island, the ITS-owned server that hosts the web pages for several student organizations including ASPC and TSL, suffered a hard drive failure this evening after regular business hours had ended. Short Internet Downtime Saturday, 4/3

An urgently needed memory upgrade to the 5-C internet router will be done Saturday morning between 7 and 8 AM. Inter-Campus connectivity will not be affected. Total downtime should not exceed 10 minutes.
