Island Outage

Island, the ITS-owned server that hosts the web pages for several student organizations including ASPC, TSL, and pomonastudents.org, is currently unreachable. Intermapper lists the start of the outage as approximately 7:30. Full-time staff have been notified.

Sasser Worm On The Loose

The Sasser family of network worms began to surface last week and new variants are still appearing. It attempts to exploit the LSASS Vulnerability, as described in Microsoft Security Bulletin MS04-011, and spreads by scanning randomly-chosen IP addresses for vulnerable systems.
