A number of services are available to support faculty technological needs.
Faculty Technology Training
ITS offers training on instructional tools such as Sakai and Luna Insight. New faculty are offered orientation sessions that include an overview of the Pomona networked environment and available desktop and instructional tools. Such one-on-one sessions can also be arranged for existing faculty. Contact the ITS Service Desk to make requests.
TLC-ITS Faculty Development Events
The College Teaching and Learning Committee (TLC) and ITS co-sponsor a series of events throughout the academic year on topics that relate to pedagogy including educational technology.

The College is a member of LACOL (Liberal Arts Consortium for Online Learning). For more info, see: the LACOL website. Len Seligman, Associate Dean and Professor of Biology and Virginie Duzer, Associate Professor of Romance Languages and Literatures are the Pomona College LACOL co-leader representatives.
Hahn Teaching with Technology Grants
Each Spring ITS and the Dean of the College office send out a Request for Proposals to faculty wishing special funding to support innovative uses of technology in their teaching. Hahn Awards generally range from several hundred to several thousand dollars.
Examples of Hahn grants include scanning images from 35 mm slides and storing them in our digital image library, digitizing video for use as online course content, and developing websites for projects, labs, or professional work.
